I'm taking the SAT in October, and I always score the lowest (in my previous attempt and on practice tests) on the writing section. This is something I cannot understand -- I got a 35 on the ACT for English, but only a 550 on my last SAT attempt for writing. Do you know of any good resources that have tips or practice questions? These low scores are driving me crazy.

Get the Ultimate Guide To SAT Grammar by Erica Meltzer, I have been doing this and my score has jumped up by 200 points

Agree that you should have Erica’s book. However, you dont need to worry to much about the writing section, most colleges don’t consider it.

I think that Erica’s guide is top notch!

Where did you hear that most colleges do not consider the writing? I have seen mixed things

Yeah, don’t blow off the writing section. Some colleges may not consider it. I live in New York and most the SUNYs don’t use it for admission, but do give out scholarships for good scores. The Writing Section, after all, is by far the easiest section to improve.
