is soy pretty cheap? i think i'm going to go and grab a quick dinner and work on my projects.. good times.

Ok so I actually did goto soy yesterday. It was ok I suppose, pretty cheap sushi.
Although the girl who worked there was sorta rude + the portion was TINY (well compared to the picture). I guess this is the best we have around the area though :/

I went there when it was dark though, and those areas still scares me a lil. Too bad it gets dark at like 5 now -_-

Olympian Burgers on Vermont and 27th or 28th I think. It's not a date restaurant, but they have basically the most amazing food near USC. Club Sandwiches are amazing and a must try, they are my favorite. Second would be Chicken Quesadillas(they serve it with salad, i exchange it for the fries). The fries there are also good. Come with an empty stomach. Its owners are Greek, but a lot of the food there is mexican-american. A lot of firefighters and cops eat there, which i think says something about the food.

If Soy is that little place next to tropics and yoshinoya, than I am just going to have to bring this thread back from the dead and ask what are you people thinking? That place has the crappiest sushi I have ever had... It is comparable to the sushi you get in a food court at a mall... how about going to little Tokyo (lots of good sushi)? Or wockano, which at least has a bar? Im sorry, but I threw my food away there, so I had to comment.

The bottom line is, in my opinion, that USC has by far the worst selection of food within a close vicinity out of any college I have been to. There is not one healthy/good tasting option. Just masses of fast food, msg filled crap, and things that try to look "healthy" but are just cheap ingredients.
It sure is a good thing that to make up for it, USC is plain and simple the best school ever!

Soy is pretty damnbad. It was my only choice at the moment.. til I FOUND

Sushi delight. Normandie and adams. OMGoodness. Sushi actually looks like the picture, tastes fantastic, cheap, giant rolls. I love this place, my favorite place around this neighborhood.

and evo9 i have no car and I needed a place near by with cheap delicious sushi. as much as I like little tokyo, too far away, too xpensive :/

How far is Normandie and Adams from the main campus? Do you see a lot of students eating at Sushi Delight? Is it near Regal Trojan? Thanks.

Sushi Delight is excellent - I just got back from eating there. 10% USC student discount if you eat-in as well. Free delivery if your order is more than $20.

Like normandie and Adams is pretty close.. about 5-10 minutes on a bicycle.
I did get a discount the other day awesome :D
I don't know about students eating there (kinda shady area but) I saw security people eating there the other day so I always feel extremely safe!
I got the bento box yesterday and it fed me for two meals. Good deal for 8.65!

Chanos is godly when you have been drinking all night :D

haha, chanos. for sure.

Olympian is on 27th & Vermont.

I love Pasta Roma. Especially since I'm italian!

La Barca for sure (especially Tues. w/ cheap margaritas) - N of campus on Vermont
Panda Express - on Figueroa
Quiznos - at Tuscany or on the corner of Adams and Figueroa
Chipotle - at Tuscany

Also Popovich Cafe on campus near Ground Zero and the business school buildings - try the Chicken Chipotle sandwich (toasted)

Are there gangsters near those restaurants? Just wondering.

Never seen any when I'm eating out on Figueroa. Either that or I'm horrible at identifying them. We have however had one gang-related shooting near a restaurant west of Vermont.

All the restaurants up and down Fig are where cops hang out, I always see a bunch of LAPD police cars around during their breaks.

Anyone know where i can get a good crepe that’s within walking distance?

Hey guys

I’m a current student at SC and am soon to be graduating. I’m looking to get into the hospitality industry and am in the middle of exploring options in order to open up a restaurant around the USC area as soon as I finish up school.

What type of cuisine are YOU missing/craving??
What type of restaurant do you believe would do well in this area?

Any feedback would help a lot!

Thank you and fight on!
