My family is going to Admit Day this Saturday, and afterwards, we all want to go out to eat. What are some good restaurants around campus that we could go to?

Marine Room
George by the Cove
Donovans

are we talking upscale?

Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza (don’t worry, they have a million things besides pizza)… mmmmmm

Go down to Prospect Ave. in downtown La Jolla, there is a bunch of great restaurants and a really nice area. They are pricey but worth it imo. George by the Cove would be a good choice.

Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza

I second this! good stuff not very pricey :)

I third Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza. I must have eaten there at least five times this year alone. Their sun-dried tomato pizza is to die for.

Piatti is very good: [Piatti Ristorante & Bar - La Jolla Shores - La Jolla, CA](http://www.yelp.com/biz/piatti-ristorante-and-bar-la-jolla)

If you can make Happy Hour between 4-6, you might try Roppongi: [Roppongi - La Jolla, CA](http://www.yelp.com/biz/roppongi-la-jolla)

I’ll say George’s again also.

If you’re looking for closer to campus and not quite as upscale as George’s or The Marine Room you could go to BJ’s, Islands, TGI Fridays, El Torito which are in a shopping center across the street from the La Jolla Village Drive entrance of UCSD and within walking distance. There’s also a Rubios Mexican fast food (pretty good) in that same shopping center and another one on campus. A bit further away by Torrey Pines state beach is Roberto’s (more Mexican than other Mexican places) for fast food local Mexican. You can pick up some burritos from Roberto’s and eat them on the beach or you could pick up some fish tacos from Rubios and eat them at La Jolla Cove.

There are tons of other restaurants in the area - check google maps.
