I'm going to be a senior when school starts, and so far my college list is about done. The only problem is that I don't have enough safety schools. The only safety I have so far is Purdue, and I'm not even sure if I can consider it a safety, even though my GPA is close to its average and my SAT about 400 points higher.

What are some good safety schools that are cheap and easy to get into? I'm thinking about state schools but not something too lousy.

Make sure you’re WILLING to go to the ‘safety schools’. Many people just choose random ‘safety schools’ and end up not getting into any of their target/reach schools at all, for one reason or another. Now they’re stuck with ‘safety schools’ that they completely hate.

Treat your college search for ‘safeties’ just as you’d treat your ‘target’ or ‘reach’ schools.

What state do you live in. Many people choose their state schools as a safety. Mines is CUNY City College which is a NY state school. Also, Arizona State is very easy to get into (90% acceptance rate), its one of my safeties also.

Also, make sure you love your safety and its accredited.

Some fairly low safeties include Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, and Stanford. Just make sure that you’re happy at wherever you end up! :)
