good SAT average GPA

Based on this brief outline of my academics what are some of the top schools I would have a chance of getting into.

Math SAT I: 740
Reading SAT I: 710
combined SAT I: 1450

GPA uw: 3.45
GPA weighted: 3.6

Huge upward trend in GPA. I also have taken every honors/AP math class available. Average EC's. What would my chances be at some top schools like:

UC's
U Mich
U Florida
Brown
Colorado Boulder
Georgia Tech
Boston U

Thanks a lot for any replies!

sanpierre2:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach
UCI/UCD/UCSB: Match
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Safe Match

UF is hard to figure for you. You have the SATs...but UF doesn't weight them that strongly in the application process. And your weighted GPA is a little on the low side. Still, if you are in the top-10% of your class..or close.. and you've taken 5 or more APs, I'd say you are likely in.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Any more thoughts?

I'd say Brown is the highest reach on your list. BU should be a high match. Colorado Boulder and UF should both be matches, IMO. GTech Reach. I'm just wondering, what weighting system does your school use? A 3.6 at my school is a below average weighted GPA.

My school adds .05 to the gpa per year, per class. Although I go to one of the top rated schools in Ohio it only offers 5-6 weighted classes total. I'm amazed when I see these 4.9 gpa's from kids taking weighted geometry and weighted gym. Hopefully colleges take this all into account

Thanks for the reply.

bumpity bump bump

You should definetly apply to UF! You have a very good chance of getting in.

In at mid tier and lower UCs, no chance at Brown.

Would I have any chance at NYU?

yes, you would have a (good) chance at NYU (NOT stern though)

Yes to NYU, but there are better schools you can get into. If money is an issue, NYU is the worst with aid. I'd go to UMich first.

bobby100: how selective is UMich? I don't know much about it... Is a 3.45/1450 in range for out of state?
