Good SAT , Bad GPA ? Heres my story

--- suppose I was from Europe and I studied there my Freshman year
--- I came to America as a sophomore but had to start out as a freshman
(Euro credits don't count in America) , All non weighted GPAs

--- Tanked that "Freshmen year" 2.3 1rst semester 3.0 semester 2nd
--- Then took hard classes the year after "Sophomore" 1rst semester 3.5

--- Then moved to LA , Got a 3.8 GPA at school 2nd semester "sophomore year"
--- At the same time as that 2nd semester doing Jr college courses and independent study to catch up on credits ( thats 8 more classes) " Junior year " , in other words a year and a half in 1 semester with a 3.8 GPA.

--- Then suppose now I have a 2300 on my SAT (regular) , then subjects an 800 in Spanish , an 800 in French with listening, and a 750 in US History

--- Now I am standing here with all that including probably the 5s I am speculating on getting with on my AP spanish Lang , Ap spanish lit and Us History

--- Lets say I take 3 jr college courses this summer (technically AP) and get all As

--- Next year I'm taking 5 APs which I plan to get all As in + Arabic and Finite Mathematics after school at a JC

With all that would I stand a chance ? Would they hold my bad GPA against me ?
or would they say wow you have upward trend nice come around ?

If not Harvard could I still get into another Ivy ?

You commented on my thread, didn’t you?

Well, there is your answer.

Good Luck!!

Will it hurt you? Yes, I mean there’s no way to say it isn’t a flaw. Plenty of people will be applying without bad freshman years. Will it mean for sure you won’t get in? No. Since you have improved consistently from your first year, Harvard and other colleges will take note of that.
