I want to work at Apple HQ or Google HQ when I'm out of college, and want to go for comp sci. Would going to UT be a good choice to work for those companies? If not, what would be a good choice?

UT Austin is likely attractive to out of area computer companies, and has local computer companies in its general area as well. You may want to check its career center and find out who comes recruiting there – though a student at a non-recruited school can always apply anyway. Of course, everyone knows who those two companies are, so they get a lot of applications. It is the smaller and less well known companies for which being at a school that they recruit at can help, since you otherwise would not even know to apply there.

If you are dead set on those companies, you should build your strategy around an internship, co-op, or other undergrad connection to the companies. Making connections like this as an undergrad (and performing well!) is usually the best bet for an inside track to a full-time position.
