I am planning on starting my own personal training business after college, which means I would major in some type of business or economics (possibly with focus in entreprenuership?) as well as a possible double major or just classes involving exercise science/nutrition/kinsiology-type subjects. Would Macalester be a good choice for me? Any other thoughts? (Only considering Division 2 and Division 3 schools)

No-if you’re interested in the Twin Cities area, look into UM or Saint Thomas.

Can I ask why not? Just wondering. Thanks.

Okay. Macalester is now off the list; U of St. Thomas is on. Man this is still a long list. Thanks for your help.

My son is a sophomore at Macalester College and, besides having a wonderful education, he is happy there. You mentioned that you are interested in Economics; you may be interested to know that Macalester has one of the best Economics program in the nation. You need to call or email the professors in the departments you are interested in, and have a heart to heart talk with them, instead of seeking advice from people who may never have heard of the school. If you are a serious student and if you get accepted to Macalester, I can guarantee you that you will get an outstanding educational experience that will transform your life. Good luck in your continuing college search.
