good schools don't require high sats

are there any top-ranked universities that don't exactly stress high sat scores?

USSM (University of Solar System, Mars) and Luna University probably don't care

Don't know the situation among universities in Galaxy System, sorry.

high scores can never hurt you.
obviously not all schools expect a 2400.
do your best.
and you'll find safeties. i promise.

Sarah Lawarence is a failry good school and SATs aren't even required there so it might be worth looking at. They require more writing samples though so if thats not your thing it might be tougher....

University of Denver requires SAT scores but every applicant has a mandatory interview (with an admissions officer, not alumni) and that is a big part of their decision. They look for character over test scores.

A lot of small Liberal Arts Colleges have more time to spend on each persons application so they are more likely to overlook low scores if you have other stuff to make you stand out.

How highly ranked are you talking about? None of the top 30 are going to be very leniant but you'll find MANY in the top 100 that rank other things much higher. That being said, even top 30 (even top 10) schools will occasionally admit people with very low scores if they make up for it in other parts of their application. Good GPA, Great E.C's, good interview, Amazing essays and Teacher recs can do wonders. Appy to where you want to go (but make sure to have a couple of safeties!) and wait and see. If you don't apply you have no chance of getting in so even if your scores are bad you still have a chance! (This board is a bad guide though... your scores might be bad compared to others who are osting but incredible when compared with the majority of people applying to schools. 500 on each section is average so keep that in mind. 600 is great!)

Bowdoin, Middlebury don't require them. I think lots of other prestigious LACs don't either.

<a href="http://www.fairtest.org/%5B/url%5D">http://www.fairtest.org/</a></p>

Has a list of over 730 colleges that do not require the SAT (some however may require the SAT or have certain conditions for SAT exemption)

Midd. has some funny requirements. Bowdoin, Bates, Holy Cross, and Mount Holyoke don't require them at all.
