<p>At Indiana University, you can pursue a degree called BSOF which is 'Bachelor of Science with an Outside Field'. You get your BS in your instrument with a large concentration in your choice of an outside field. The music curriculum for students pursuing the BSOF is basically the same as the BM kids with only a few very small differences. I have friends using their outside field to fulfil pre-med requirements, create an ad hoc MT training with the theater school, do creative writing or poly sci for pre-law, etc.</p>
<p>This isn't a double major, but it's a way for music kids to get a more well-rounded education. In most cases, a fifth year in this program would allow you enough credits to declare a double major.</p>
