Good schools for Computer Science/IT?

This is my first post here so I apologize if this is in the incorrect forum...

I want to major in computer science or information technology, my goal in the future is to enter the IT field. I'm currently a High School Senior. I live in Southern New York (close to NYC), and I am currently looking at different schools. I do not want to travel too far, I prefer schools in NY or schools in bordering states.

So far, I'm interested in NYU as my reach school, NYIT, and U of Bridgeport as my safety. I haven't done any college visits (planning on doing it for NYIT soon...I know I'm a bad procrastinator..)

What are some good state schools for IT/CS? SUNY's? I would like to live on campus as well

SAT: 1520
ACT: 25

(Taking SAT again in October)

My average is in the lower to mid 80's, but I have a handful of extracurricular activities (sports + clubs), along with over 300 confirmed volunteer hours over Sophmore/Junior year (Dunno if this will help my chances...?)

Again I really dont know a lot about this so please have some patience with me...I promise I'll try to help everyone back as much as I can! :)

Thanks!

Stony Brook is great for computer science, but you’d need to raise your score.

I assume for both the SAT/ACT? Thanks for the response btw
