good schools for computer science??

So I’m an international student about to apply to colleges tis fall and I was wondering where to go for computer science. Rankings don’t really help because all they suggest are Ivies and I want to build a list with second and third tier schools. basically does anyone know (could help me point to resources) any good unis or liberal arts colleges with good computer science departments? thanks

https://www.scribd.com/document/346963694/Hiringsolved-Ideal-Hire-Report-in-Tech gives a few lists of which schools are being hired most by Silicon Valley employers and what skills those new employees have.

thanks!

Note that most of those schools are still pretty hard to get into and leaves off a lot of well regarded CS schools that are a lot easier to get into.

For example, good safety options (depending on your stats) check out RIT and WPI, though you won’t find them on that hiring report. That report is a good starting point, but it doesn’t account for school size, so some schools end up on there based on the size of the departments.

If you post your stats people may be able to suggest schools for safety/match/reach.

It should also be noted that most schools will do the job for CS just fine. That’s not to say all are even, but that where your degree is from in CS means pretty little. Experience and ability are the primary drivers, both of which are affected by college attendance but not directly tied. Any school with a sufficient curriculum in CS can give the needed resources for a student who seeks out the opportunities to get experience but a good CS school will make that easier.
They will help those there get experience at companies based on the reputation of the school, co-op and internship programs, proximity/relationships to companies, etc. CS ability is tied to curriculum strength, professors, and research if you are looking to do it.

This all speaks to just CS of course.
