Do you think I have a better chance at Tufts or Middlebury? I'd like to use my early decision on the one that I have more of a chance at.

This is what Tufts said:

Hello Katie,
Thank you for your interest in Tufts University.

By all means, apply. Applications are given a comprehensive review that
looks at the total package the student presents. We are very interested
in your high school transcript, your essay(s), and your teacher
recommendations, in addition to standardized test scores and
extracurricular activities.

I hope this is helpful. We wish you well in your college search.

I want to apply early decision to either Tufts or Middlebury. Which one to I have a better chance of getting into??

Please, guys, I really want some help! Which one?!

I think that being from Minnesota gives you an edge at any of these colleges. So many applicants to New England LAC's are from New England and the MidAtlantic states that your application will be flagged. Tufts and Middlebury are SO different! Have you seen them?

Both Tufts and Middlebury are very tough admissions, Middlebury perhaps slightly more difficult on the numbers, but Tufts gets a lot more applications. But, as others asked, are you really neutral enough between these two very different places?

The students are different and so are the campuses......I'd guess that Middlebury is also more academically rigorous....(used to be, anyway)

Middlebury does not require the SAT. Thus the numbers would be inflated for the school's admissions. It remains to be said, however, that the secondary school record is scrutinized to a greater deal (which is not your strong suit) than if test scores had been provided in the first place.
