What do you consider a good score for the new SAT out of 2400?

Hmm. I'd guess a 2300+ wouldn't be too shabby.

that's like getting a 770 on all three parts..like a 1540...

okay so does anyone with realisitc numbers and not trying to showoff have a response?

How was I trying to show off? If you wanna get all technical, then I should remind you that there is no such thing as a "good" score, because "good" is different for each and every individual.

as in good I meant an above average score for an above average school. Such as boston university, nyu, ect. If I was talking about a score to get me into Harvard or Princeton I would say an amazing score.

'2300+ wouldn't be too shabby' be too shabby? Unless you were being incredibly sarcastic that's showing off. Give me a break

i guess that ... 2000 would be a very solid score. 650, 650, 700 or so, just like 1300 is a solid score now

watch - just take what is a good score now (i would say like 1400) and then multiply it by 1.5
then u get what is the "equivalent" on the new sat.
so
1300=1950
1400 = 2100
1500 = 2250

And rokurota
Dude seriously - 2300? that is an superb score... much better than shabby
even for tough schools that is great

visishs i dont know much that method would work since it cant get "80" like a 2180.

Whoa you guys need to calm down. First off, different people have different standards. I know someone who retook a 1540. I know people who keep much much lower scores. If I had put my full effort into taking the new SAT, and studied very hard for it, I would aim for a 2300. Not to mention it also depends on your breakdown. If I got a 2300 witha 700 math, I would retake, because math is my best subject. There are too many factors involved in deciding what is a "good" score. You never mentioned what schools you wanted to go to. There is no hierarchy of "average, good, amazing, extraordinary."

Chill out.
