Did anyone else get a letter saying that "You will likely receive a thick envelope in just a few weeks!" and "Ps: Plan to join us for one of our special events for admitted students"?

Does this mean we are 100% going to be admitted?

It’s a likely letter. Unless you start failing classes, getting arrested, or cutting school, you should be admitted. Discussion in other thread.
PS got one also

I got one too! It was pretty much the closest thing to saying your in without offering admission, I’m surprised by how blunt they were haha. but yay! and CONGRATS!

DD received one in the mail today. It is really worded very directly.

Congrats to all of you students that received one.

son got one today March 14th. it was dated the 11th.

didn’t get one yet…but i’m an intl student…did any intl receive the likely letter?..worrying…

I received mine today, I am from ohio and plan to study business… Richmond is one of my first choices. Congrats to all of you who have received them and stay patient for those who have not!

zhiyioakdal-I’m an int’l too and I didn’t receive anything like a LL, but many int’l students as I know didn’t receive anything either.

Wait if you didn’t get one does that basically mean you’re screwed?

ginger these are just like letters and not sent to all accepted students. Don’t worry too much. At most colleges only like 10% of accepted will receive one.

haha i got one too! and they end the letter with “Congratulations!” pretty sure they wouldn’t say that after a denial. this is totally unexpected. i didn’t expect to get in! hahaha. first school i’ve heard back from since the early round

Do you mind sharing your stats if you got a “likely letter”. I am a junior…just to know for next year. A likely letter is a really nice thing!

I got one. 3.9 gpa 4.4 weighted -most rigorous/lots of aps/honors/numerous varsity/athletic awards/art awards /tons of leadership …2170 sats…write a really good essay - I think they really pay attention.

Likely here 3.9+ 2250 740 bio m and 760 Math 2 good ec’s

I got one.
4.0 UW GPA; ACT 30; SAT Math II 800, U.S. History 730; TOEFL 109.
EC’s - Basketball captain, track, Student Council Secretary, Board of Ed Rep, FBLA, etc.
Awards - QuestBridge Finalist and a bunch of other awards.

@Dufour
sigh… Where r u from? I am from China…but one of my friend received a LL from UCLA before so it means they do give out LL for Int’ls right?

I got one (as mentioned above) but here are a few of my stats:

Male, from Ohio
ACT-31
SAT-Didnt send
SAT II- did not take
GPA- 3.85 UW
ECs- 4 time tennis letterer (captain), 2 Golf letters, golf state qualifyer, Vice President at Ohio Model UN, NHS secretary, Class treasurer, etc.

zhiyioakdal-LOL,I’m from China too! I believe whether or not sending out LLs totally depends on the college itself… so UCLA does send out LLs to int’l students but UR doesn’t necessarily do the same to int’l applicants. So many American students on CC received LLs but many of the int’l applicants didn’t get one so far as I was concerned.
Don’t worry!

2130 sat
5.19 weighted gp
3.81 unweighted
12 seasons of sports, leadership positions, lots of ecs and ap and honors classes.

@Detour
ehhh…it’s reasonable…couldn’t wait anymore…which province are you from? I am from shandong…
