Good Signs?

Hey Guys,

I applied to HYPS, and some things happened that make me curious.

(1) I had an interview later than most interviews which felt very rushed. It happened towards the very end of February. The interviewer called late one night and wanted to schedule the interview for the next day. The whole thing just felt very rushed. Also, she said she drove quite a distance to meet me. I am wondering, does this possibly mean that I am being seriously considered? I was thinking that maybe there were no local alumni at first, but, after reviewing my application, the adcom wanted to get an interview with me before admitting me. My application is a bit "off-balance". Some perfect scores, some below average scores. Also, throughout the whole interview, she was like "Wow, that is a great answer, no really, that is a really good answer." Am I just reading too far in to this, or can I glean any hope?

(2) One college called my guidance counselor asking for some more information about my application. There were some weaknesses (a detention 9th grade, etc.) that this college wanted more information about. Is this a good sign? At first it sounds bad, but then I thought 'Why would they be asking for more information rather than just reject me?' Is it a good sign that they were looking for reasons, or excuses, to admit me? Why else would they waste time calling my GC?

Thanks!

Two words: ONE WEEK

;)

Haha yeah, you’re right. I just hate waiting!

My brother answered “Brown” as an answer to his first choice college in a Dartmouth interview and the interviewer made the interview really short (15 min?) lol.

Nothing you can do to change the outcome, just hope that you get in :).

You’re thinking too much into it all. There’s no way to know if these things are an indication of your admission status but I highly doubt it.
