<p>Chicago more or less started the field of sociology, but I agree with world changer on the not for everyone bit and I would add that pretty much any top school will have a good department in both subjects. If you're into the social sciences, though, part of me thinks you'll adore Chicago for its core and for other reasons. PM me if you're still curious about the school.</p>
