I'm entering college next fall, and I'm really nervous because I have ADHD. ADHD made high school really hard for me, and my overall GPA was really low. I'm really worried that it will be worse in college because I won't have as many people trying to help me through it, plus I will have more distractions. Do you guys know of any good books or something that will help guide me through college with ADHD? I found a lot on Amazon, but I don't want to bother buying one unless I am sure that it will be helpful. If you guys know any websites or anything else that might be helpful as well, that would also be appreciated. Thanks. :)

I have add. ive only read a few books about it but i have figured out how to cope with it on my own. the most important thing is to never procrastinate. make it your top priority as a student. also, take an adhd medication that will help you concentrate. a daily planner helps a lot too.

i read “adhd for dummies” and “driven to distraction”.

I procrastinate like hell.

My suggestion? Coffee. It helps. Also, eat plenty of apples. Exercising could help too.

I still manage to get my work done.

I’ve had ADHD my whole life, I have struggled with school because of it. I have been taken meds since I was in the 3rd grade and ever since they help. Last semester I didn’t take my meds because I thought I could do it but my GPA ended up to be 1.3…I started to take meds again before this past semester and my gpa got raised to 2.5 and my lowest grade for a class was a B+. Just get meds, they will help you a ton.

This is a good book that you might find useful: College Confidence with ADD by Michael Sandler (the author speaks from experience). Check out the reviews on Amazon. In college try your best to stay organized, don’t procrastinate and seek any services that will keep you on the right track (tutoring, writing center, etc…). Best of luck to you! Stay strong.
