hi! After being deferred from Cornell, I'm starting to look at other colleges (blessing in disguise?) anyways, Dartmouth is a school that I'm looking into and I've got some questions.

What is Dartmouth best known for education-wise? How is their biology program?

What about Dartmouth makes it stand out? anything Quirky or related to ice cream?

What does Dartmouth look for in a candidate (the things they don't tell you on the website?)

Thanks in advance!!

Forgive me if I’m wrong, but you should probably be looking at less competitive schools than Dartmouth if you were defered from Cornell. Though an excellent, rigorous school, Cornell is a lot larger than Dartmouth and so is less selective. Of course, college admissions is also fickle, so you never know–Dartmouth may take a liking to you. But I just warn you to look at less competitive schools as well.

Dartmouth is best known for Economics, I wouldn’t go there do to biology

Dartmouth is in a small town, with a great area to ski, but since you applied to Cornell I don’t see you having trouble with that environment

What Dartmouth the admissions officers know more than anyone else.

I also agree with glassesarechic about the competitiveness for selection at Dartmouth. If you got deferred from Cornell, I highly advise you look at less competitive schools instead of going for even harder to get into schools.

thank you for the advice!
