Good Summer Programs

Hi,

What is a good summer program for a rising junior? Preferribly in science and math

RSI
Governor's school if your state has it

k thanx...

I think that it is for a rising sophmore then...a sophmore going to be a junior...

RSI is for juniors going to be seniors

Oh just kidding. I must've skipped over that part.

lol no problema

The Engineering Summer Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is excellent. I went to it.

Check these out
1. The Summer Research Apprentice Program at the University of Wyoming
2. Pre-College Enrichment Program at the Mississippi University for Women
3. NASA SHARP
4. Summer Science Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
5. Baylor University has some summer science program for high schoolers. You should probably try googling it.
6. Harvard has many science programs for disadvantaged minority students

I hope this was helpful.

NASA SHARP!!! I'm at NASA SHARP at the University of Wisconsin-Madison right now and having a blast. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the program.

Hey, zpmqxonw, what do you think of the ESP kids? Are they nice? How many are there?

zpmqxonw, have you gone to Chicago yet? How was it?

NIH internships
MITE2S (MIT program; URM but you dont have to be one)
if you live near a college/university w/e, check their website. they prolly have programs
eem... search for some of texas137's posts

I know that there's a CTY Civic Leadership program, it's held in Baltimore yearly for around three weeks each summer.

TASS. It's the Telluride Association program for rising Juniors. It focuses on issues affecting African-Americans. The program is directed toward urm's, but I don't think it's limited to urm's. I think TASS will help you to get into TASP, a prestigious program for rising seniors.

Wow, thanx guys!

How selective is NASA SHARP? And also, I want to attend RSI ... would any of these look good for an RSI app.??? Thanx again!

And btw...i get the short end of the stick with URM...white catholic middle-class male xo

I just got back from EPGY and I must say it was Awesome^2.

:)

may i get a link Hi Wei?

Definitely NASA SHARP. Especially if you want to get paid :-)

:)

vtoodler, the ESP kids are also staying in our dorm (Slichter Hall) along with the Summer Science Institute kids. They are nice but I haven't gotten a chance to talk to them very much. ESP seems to be different then SHARP because I think that they go to classes while we are at our research sites? Also, I am kinda curious is ESP for local kids only and is it free? It looks like a really fun program.

We are going to Chicago this Saturday:) Do you have any ideas for things that we must see? I am really excited!!!

What are NIH internships and how do you apply for them? I googled it and it's something about the National Institute of Health.

how hard is nasa sharp to get into?
