Good Technology/Engineering Colleges in New England Area

I'm trying to decide on colleges to attempt to apply to in the near future, and I have narrowed down the majors I'm looking for to Computer Engineering, and possible Computer Science. I have absolutely no idea what schools in the New England area are good colleges for this area, technology and engineering that is. Naturally I've looked at MIT, but I also want more viable options. I'm also considering WPI (Worcester Polytech), but a list of two possible colleges is quite small, and I want a couple more options. All I am looking for right now is a large list of good technology/engineering colleges that I can narrow down later with factors such as cost. Any suggestions towards some good schools would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch to anyone who can respond, and please have a nice day!

At least some of your state universities should be considered.

There are many. Your own list will depend on your stats and budget. Some of the better ones, besides MIT and WPI:

Rensselaer (RPI)
Cornell
Rochester Inst of Tech (RIT)
NYU Poly
Northeastern
Wentworth
Olin
Binghamton
SUNY Buffalo
Stony Brook
Stevens Inst of Tech

Thanks a bunch for the suggestions ucbalumnus and Chardo, I’m gonna have to look into some state universities and those schools you listed the next moment I’m free :-)

Surprisingly (since Brown isn’t very known for engineering), Brown has an excellent Computer Science program from what I’ve heard. Admission is tough, though. Good luck!

University of Massachusetts has a strong computer science program.
