Good times to visit?

My S is very interested in Macalester but won't be free to visit until December, maybe Christmas break. Does it make sense to visit then? I guess he would see St Paul at its coldest!

Hello! Mac offers opportunities to get a campus tour and attend an information session throughout the year. You are welcome to come during winter break in December and January (except major holidays). More info can be found here: <a href=“Visit Macalester - About”>http://www.macalester.edu/admissions/visitcampus/

Thanks! He could get a true picture of how cold it gets.

Worth noting that the fall semester ends December 10 and the spring semester begins on January 22. I hope you enjoy your visit! - Elyan

Finally updating that he went in January after classes started. Cold and snowy, but not as bad as now!

Good for my warm weather son to experience some winter, however. His dad pretty much dropped him off at the campus and left him to wander for the day, doing a mix of planned and unplanned activities . Son met with some people, but also roamed around on his own and observed. He had a great experience. I appreciate the hospitality shown to him.

Thanks for the update! I’m glad he enjoyed his time on campus.

Here is a fun story written by a recent alumnus (originally from California) about the winter weather. - Elyan
