I am an incoming freshman at UT Austin. I just found out students in RHE 306, which is a English course, get a relatively low GPA. So...I wanna take it later in community college. Will the adviser hate that cuz I didn't even try?

BTW, can I take classes in degree plan disregarding the order? ex. take RHE 306 in the summer of 2014.

I think you get credit for RHE 306 with a 600 on SAT writing or ACT 26

or a 3 on AP Eng Lang

Most students tend to have the credit for the class through exams, such as the AP English Language exam, or even having a high verbal/reading score (600+) on the SAT I test (some on ACT test).

That probably explains the tendacy of low GPAs in those classes (not to offend anyone). Those who couldn’t exempt the class through those methods tend to struggle in the class, but not all do. It doesn’t mean the class is hard, although it also kinda depends on the instructor.

Also, any student can take RHE 306 in the summer. Those born in even months can take it in the Fall, odd months take it in the spring. Why, I don’t know.

smallsky-yes you can talk to your adviser about your options. Don’t take it at UT. You can take it at a CC in your hometown or at Austin Community College either on campus or online.
