You know, potential to contribute.

Since I'm Mexican-american, i'm looking to write something with that.

Something along the lines of being a son of two parents with little education. Working hard to disprove the common stereo-types.

Sound good?

im sorry it sounds cliche, every other immigrant will write the same thing

That wouldn't go for UC Essay 2, but more like Essay 3, no?

Essay 2 = talents + contributions to campus
Essay 3 = hardships + extenuating circumstances

Even though it's "cliche," go for it. Just make it work for you. Almost everything people write about, from family deaths to leadership roles, is cliche.

well, i'm planning to write about a family death for Essay 3

i dont know what i can contribute to the campus:(

say you can contribute diverstiy and unique perspective

well i wrote something on how i'm looked as a latino leader due to my academic achievements, how i help out others when they need help, etc;

which one do you think would be a better subject?

im stuck on same thing
