UC essay #1 (600 word): My experience at local community college last summer and joining a Step-to-College program, which allosw students to earn college credit by learning a college curriculum in their own HS class
UC #2: Mom’s work eithic and how it was instilled in me and the importance of it.
(Work ethic being a personal quality…not to sure if this is what UC is looking for)
UC #3: Basketball’s role in my education. (not necesarily the accomplishments from playing the game but the escape it provides for me mentally)
Sports is probably really cliche, but it is meaningful to me. If every says it will totally get me no where in admissions than I will write about something else.

They all sound like good topics, but it really all depends on HOW you've written them Have you finished any? I can look over them and give you my advice it want. kkripalani@gmail.com But yeah, they all sounds like pretty solid topics.

Work ethic is a topic that a lot of people will write about, so you want to make sure to make it stand out somehow. Don't go overboard on creativity, just give concrete examples of a unique situation (if there was one).

The first one seems really insignificant for some reason. The 600 word essay is supposed to be the big gun, and writing about your experience going to a community college doesn't seem to be that meaningful.

hhhmmm........ok no prob, thnx for input.....so it wouldnt be a good idea to elaborate on it? becuz i am writing about my public hs lack of funding and how i took it upon myself to take a hands on physics course (our hs science course dont perform many advanced lab experiments becuz of lack of funding) and how the poli sci course let me experience politics first hand instead of jus reading a textbook (we went to san fran to visit mayor, and we even met jor trippi who ran howard dean campaign)...so my essay isnt jus about the cc experience

would you mind reading my essays? i can sure use an unbiased opinion and you seem willing to tell me the truth (i am tired of my dad looking it over and telling me good job...)

i'll look over your essays and tell you what i think if you'd like...just e-mail them to me brntcldwll@aol.com

i am writing about how i inherited my mother's blue collar work ethic and how i have learned that education is not always the most importan thing but its more about the ambition you have (my mom was an immigrant with a highschool GED that came to america at 27 and she has provided my brother and me a comfortable lifestyle)

leftist.....ill send you it right now....how many CAN you read? haha......i really need a unbiased opinion for all of mine but I dont want to overburden someone else that is also worried about college apps......so just tell me how much you can handle
