2)A highly active research university
3)3000+ Undergraduates
4)Somewhere that I can get good research or internship through
5) Highly involved in politics with link to upper government and science agencies especially NASA[I would LOVE to work there)
6)Strong debate team
7)Nice Campus in City(Think BC,MIT,ULCA[loved],UCSD,SDSU,Harvard,Brown,George Washington)
8)Solid Study Abroad Program(particularly in the UK and Europe)

I plan to major in either CompSci,International Relations/Politics, Physics(for Ph.D in Astrophysics), or some type of Engineering(Aerospace,Electrical,Biotech)

I would love technology/engineering and business program too. But that isn't needed.

I live in RI and plan to live in California, but will go to college anywhere

Thanks for the help,I hate to be a pain and picky, but I want to try to get into somewhere that will make me happy and will help me succeed and get a good job.
Some may say if you GPA is that low, you shouldn't get into a good college...But that is because high school is terrible and I can't organize myself without a Laptop/Smartphone.

ASK ALL QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO.

Wisconsin probably would suit you well. It has a long history of taking flawed students and turning out well polished ones. Offers just about all you are looking for and a high SAT will likely get you in with a 3.3 or so gpa and all the other stuff.

Alright, the whole "I can't do well because I don't have the right gadget" is not going to fly with colleges. You say you're on an upward trend; continue it. The fact that you have a low GPA but are clearly intelligent may actually work against you if colleges feel you haven't pushed yourself to your fullest potential.

"GPA:Between 3.0 and 3.4UWHighest Possible"

Try and find schools that don't either don't count or give very little weight to your freshmen year. To quote some admissions person I heard earlier this week, studies have shown that freshmen year grades are not a good predictor of success in college.

You should take a look at the aerospace engineering program at CU-Boulder. Colorado is the second highest recipient of NASA funding for research. Got to be some good connections there. Aerospace Engineering Sciences | University of Colorado at Boulder

gettinin, I am not going to say that...I have other reasons. I did even live in the town I was going to school in freshmen year,I didn't know anyone and was too worried about fitting in to do well.

dilksy, I know some don't like UC,Stanford,Princeton,Cornell...etc. but I need some none-Ivies options and the UCs are nearly impossible OOS.

I am look at Boulder, The Physics department appear to be top notch.
I am not to fond of the location though and there are other questionable stuff.

I myself have onnections to NASA so it isn't a killer, but if they have JPL like Cal-Tech, that is outstanding.

I feel like since I don't have a 4.0, I don't get help here.

welcome to my world buddy...

alot of pretentious people on these boards

Boulder might be a good fit, but it's sort of a party school with lots of skunk.
You could probably get into VT or GT fairly easily but I'm not sure if you're interested.

I've looked at VT and GT.
I am not to fond of Georgia,VT might be ok.

While I am at it, Am I a shoe-in at my state university?(URI)
I have a double legacy(both parents) there as well. My cousin graduated valedictorian and was assistant to the President of the school after graduation.

Also I prefer something in maybe Mass(Boston maybe?),The rest of the Northeast/Atalanta , and California.

I can post my "ideal" school if that give you are better idea.

I'll try to get some more responses tomorrow I guess....

How about Purdue University? The location might suck but..it's a known engineering school.

Honestly, I am looked at looking since it is arguably the best engineering school in the country, but I HATE the location. But it is still a good option.

How about something in a city especially Boston?
I will accept a smaller location sometimes, especially if it is closer to New England Area or CA/WA. Exceptions can and will be made.

Also I know some college have joint program with other...Fordham has a Engineering program through Columbia. This is always an option.

I am just so mad at myself...Wish I could have a do over......REALLY BAD
To make it worse,I have a VERY strong feeling my sister will get into Brown, even though her school doesn't have grades or rank(THink "New" School) Both her "advisers" went to Brown and the Director of Admission at Brown sits of the school board....This would probably (explicit) me off for the rest of my life.

What about Northeastern?

I would LOVE to go Northeastern, but I don't know if I will get in.

Ohio State has it all -- very strong in poli sci, every kind of engineering, computer sci, IR, in a state capital (sorry, though, not in New England, CA or WA); Washington State (Pullman is not the greatest location, but might be a match for your interests and in WA.)

any more help

Atlanta is completely different from the rest of Georgia.

In understand that, I will think about it.
