Good Writing book

Is -Barrons How to Prepare for the SAT II Writing (Barron's How to Prepare for the Sat II Writing) (Paperback)- good for the NEW SAT or is it out of date? I've heard good things about this book but I want to make sure that this book is valid for the NEW SAT.

I have it, and yes it covers a lot of stuff. It helped me get a feel for the writing section when I was first starting out. Though, I don't suggest memorizing rules... it's more about practicing and recognizing the types of errors that are tested. Though the book is definitely good for reference.

Go Barron's and Sparknote's old books for SAT II writting, they have never been outdated.

I found KAplan really helpful as well. Their practice tests mirrored my real score as well. I got within the 620-650 range on their practice tests and received a 640 on the real exam. Prior to practicing from the book, my writing score was a 500 without preparation.
