Goodness gracious i'm so confused!!!!!!

Hi!
So, I began my application for Phillips Academy Andover last December but because of a serious medical condition, I couldn't continue it. In April, I decided to continue and complete my application although I knew it was already too late. Some Andover Admissions Officers advised me not to go through the trouble because they already had full admittance, (they told me my application would probably not be read) but I felt as if I should continue what I started and I simply wanted to get a feel for the admission process so I could apply next year. I saved up money to fly to Boston for an on-campus interview because I felt the need to explain my situation in person to the admissions counselors. Anyways, after all this, I got a call from the woman who interviewed me back in May just yesterday. She told me that my application was under review and I would receive my result by July 4th. Now this confused me, because first of all, why did the busy admissions counselor give me a personal call? Secondly, I didn't even expect my application to be reviewed! Does this mean there is an actual waiting list? I was told that they weren't even going to the waiting list this year. Weird..

Some factors to consider are..
1. I had an absolutely amazing application, no doubt.
2. I met and still email a couple of teachers at Andover and they really want me to come.
3. The interview went FANTASTIC.

Any thoughts?

You may still be accepted even though admissions are technically closed, esp if you are not applying for financial aid.

Possible, but doesn’t seem probable for a school like Andover. I would use it as just practice for next year, but you never know.

I know! I’m just not going to build my hopes up :/

My daughter was admitted mid-summer a couple of years ago because a spot opened up. It’s rare, but it does happen. Good luck. It’s a great school and well worth reapplying if you don’t get in this year.

Padre13, did your daughter apply for financial aid?

Yes

10 char

There is nothing you have said that you shouldn’t have said, but even so, please be careful. I think your unique application process makes you readily identifiable by anyone who is close to Andover’s admissions’ office.
Good luck.
