@BladeHunter Yea I got the “Thank you for your interest email.” And unfortunately, I don’t currently have authorization to work in the US. I thought Google would assist with that they wanted me to work for them. Thanks for clearing everything up with me.
Are you interviewing?
I just received my 3rd “hang-tight” email, this time about teams and locations.
@Bobby10 I received my 3rd email today as well!
For people that have submitted the supplemental after the application deadline, did any of you guys also get a “hang-tight” email? I’ve only got “Thanks for applying” email so far and I was getting worried…
Also, this might have been asked before, but can I ask people I know to submit referrals now?
@Bobby10 can share what was said in the email? I really would like to know more about that!
Google BOLD Internship Teams & Locations
Thanks for being patient while our team reviews applications. We will reach out with application information in early 2019. In the meantime, we will keep you plugged into happenings at Google and continue to share what it’s like to work here.
Team and Location Options
Teams
We hire for various teams across Google (including some not mentioned above), and all of them have a direct impact on Google’s business. If you are selected for an interview, your recruiter will let you know what function and location you are being considered for.
Interviews are an opportunity for you to learn about the function and what type of work you would be doing. We encourage you to discuss and tell us about your past experiences, why you’re an awesome fit for Google, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
If you receive an internship offer, it will be a general offer for the organization that you interviewed with. You will learn more about your specific team and project during the first week of your internship. While this might be new to you and make you a bit nervous, remember that ambiguity is a big part of working at Google and our team has your best interest in mind!
Top Applicant Questions
When would I start my internship with Google?
Google will have several start dates available in May and June 2019. Your recruiter will work with you to select the date that works best for you.
Will I know who my host is before I start? When will I know what my project is for the summer?
All interns will receive ongoing mentorship and training throughout their summer at Google. You will be assigned an intern “host” who will inspire you, oversee your work, help identify project goals, and support your professional development. You will be introduced to your host shortly before your internship begins in most cases. Most interns learn the details of their projects during their first week at Google.
Life @ Google
Why companies are (finally) falling over each other to become best place to work - Fast Company - “Google takes it on face value that employee well-being is a profound driver of productivity and innovation, and ensures its workers have great influence on their work hours–and a significant voice in how the firm is run.” That’s why we’ve been named the #1 best place to work four times.
A long way home with help from Google Earth - Official Google Blog - In 1986, a five-year-old boy named Saroo Munshi Khan accidentally fell asleep on a train in India. He woke up hours later, alone and separated from his family. For more than a quarter century, he searched for them before finding his way back home with the help of Google Earth.

It’s been almost a week, & I still haven’t heard anything after my interview & follow up email. Hopefully I receive the offer :-SS :-S
@jsp283 Same, I haven’t gotten any of these hang tight emails either. Only one so far is the “Thanks for Applying” one that I got like a couple of days ago. We might have either not been put in the mailing list yet or we’re rolling on a different schedule compared to the ones who got theirs in before the deadline. Can’t say for certain tbh.

@kdawg1212 what’s your recruiter’s name/initial? And did you send a follow up email to your interviewers?
Are you saying I could’ve been deleted out of the system? @Bobby10 & I sent a follow up to interviewers as well, i also don’t want to give my recruiters name due to confidentiality @asphalt70
@kdawg1212 that’s just a deleted comment on the thread… nothing about your application. Also, I had my interview over a week ago and I didn’t hear back. I don’t expect a favorable result but I def would give them over a week.
Ok thank you, good luck to all you other applicants too! @asphalt70
@asphalt70 @kdawg1212
