Accepted to UIUC, Case, Tufts, Carnegie, and Brown for electrical engineering (will attend Brown)
My D did not get in. I don’t think she’s really the target demo- white, upper middle class, already taken AP CS and attending Tufts for CS this fall. Didn’t really expect to get in but would have been fun! Congrats to those that were selected.
My email said this:
“Unfortunately, after much deliberation, we are unable to move forward with your application at this time for the Generation Google Scholarship. But, your application is still being considered for CSSI and we will send out final decisions by end of next week.”
I still have hope for the summer camp
I only applied to CSSI and got this email today about an hour ago:
Dear psithurisma,
Thank you for your application to the 2015 Google Computer Science Summer Institute. We received overwhelming interest in this year’s program and had to make some difficult decisions regarding applications. Unfortunately, we are unable to move forward with your application at this time. We hope you will remain passionate about computer science, and in the meantime, we have included some information below that you may find helpful for your studies and for staying connected with Google.
Thank you again for your interest in Google. We look forward to keeping in touch!
Sincerely,
The Google CSSI Team

I got the same email as psithurisma. Didn’t get in. Would’ve been nice for them to just say it outright instead of “We are unable to move forward with your application”. Oh well, congratulations to those that got in and good luck to those that are still waiting.
I applied for both the scholarship and cssi, and although I did not get the scholarship, I am still in consideration for cssi (got the same email @drock1234 got). I am relieved to know that I still have a chance, considering that my essays were quite literally last minute (which is why I was mad to hear that Google extended the deadline, I could have done better).
Son did not get in. Asian Male
Stats: ACT 34 (36 M); 3.87 UW; 4.75 W; 10 APs; 6 CS courses (4 in HS; 1 each at Carnegie and Harvard)
Attending Cornell Engineering for CS
If I do not get in , I will be so Frustrated. Because they are keeping my hopes up by saying that my application is still being consider. I mean if they are going to say no, They could just have done it now !!
@MidnightOFive Williams has a fantastic CS department, probably a top 3 LAC dept (Mudd doesn’t count IMHO). Since Google won’t have an opportunity to “inspire” you to pursue CS, definitely check it out at Williams!
Has anybody else not heard from Google at all (other than application confirmation email). I applied only for just CSSI and I haven’t heard anything. Just curious.
I have a feeling they just sent that “still being considered” email to everyone who didn’t get the scholarship, but if you haven’t gotten an email yet my guess is you’re in
