For a Google internship, does anyone know what the background/reference checks will entail? Besides confirming that my previous employment information is correct, will anything I put on my resume and what I said during interviews, such as my responsibilities and contributions during my past work experiences, be carefully checked as well? I'm a little worried because it's been so long since I finished some of my previous internships, and I doubt that my former supervisors will remember what I did especially when some of them didn't supervise me that closely anyway when I was their intern.

For background checks, only your references you listed will be asked about your job responsibilities.

For previous jobs/internships, Google will only ask for employment date range and salary/rate which is the standard.

You will most likely be receiving a call from the background checking company to sign off on agreements allowing your old companies you interned for to release HR information. Keep in mind that there will most likely be an education check to make sure your graduation date and enrollment is correct.

Will the background checkimg company reveal my offer status with Google when they request information from my old companies? Thanks for the response!

It would be a nice courtesy to let a former employer know that they will be getting a call for a position you have accepted, instead of them getting a call out of nowhere.

Google will hire a company to do the background check on their behalf. No one will know who is hiring you or considering you as a potential candidate.

does anyone know when we can expect to hear the results from our background check?

You do not hear the results. That information goes to your employer. If you mean how long it takes, usually a week to gather all the information.
