Google posted a math question on my campus...

I guess it's for a job offer or something. I heard they do this stuff on billboards on highways just so they can get smart people.

Anyway, here's the question they're asking..if you can answer it, you have to send an email, and pray for the next level!!

So, i wrote it down and i really don't get it, it's a stupid and nonsense question.

One day, Johnny gave Josie 4 red roses, each with 30 to 50 thorns. When Josie grabbed the 4 red roses with her right hand, she felt an estimate of 2, 3, or 4 thorns. Assuming that Zero is the center of the universe, if each thorn gives Josie 200 units of ouch and each rose gives Josie 500 units of joy (-500 units of ouch), under what conditions will Josie accept another rose from Johnny?

Anyone have any ideas?

I go to berkeley by the way

wow, this is the stuff google asks?

as long as the feeling estimate is >2.5 thornes for each additional rose, then she'll be happy? rofl, i don't know.

Josie will accept another rose from Johnny if he decides to man up and finally ask her out to dinner instead of screwing around with petty gifts.

How much is the starting salary at Mickey D's?

wait... she felt 2, 3 or 4 for all 4 of the roses? because then she will certainly accept another rose... (esp. if she's smart enough not to stab herself again)

what if all 2, 3 or 4 thorns were felt on 1 rose...

Under these conditions:

1) She is wearing gardening gloves.

2) Johnny has stripped the thorns off the rose.

3) Johnny has an engagement ring looped onto the rose.

Should I go on?

XD, thank you D'yer Maker

4) In a vase.

5) As a corsage.

6) After he gets her some gauze and tweezers.

7) After she kicks him in the shin for handing them to her like that.

8) With an apology.

...is it really this easy? Will they give me stock options or just a free YouTube account?

thats not the problem, Bittertaste

Google posted on my campus too (michigan), theres a flyer right outside my dorm

One day, Johnny gave Josie 4 red roses, each with 33 to 47 thorns. When Josie grabbed the 4 red roses with her right hand, she felt an estimate of 2, 3, or 4 thorns. Assuming that Zero is the center of the universe and that everything in this universe is math, if each thorn gives Josie 200 units of ouch and each red rose gives Josie 500 units of joy (-500 units of ouch), under what conditions will Josie accept another red rose from Johnny?

you wrote down the things wrong

And it's really not that hard

i have the answer :)

9) When Johnny proves himself to be a worthier suitor than Zero.

10) After she comes down from those 'shrooms she was doing: units of ouch? Zero is the center of the universe? And why is Johnny, a transvestite midget who's allergic to pollen, walking around with flowers?

and the answer is?

I wouldn't be at all surprised when D'yer Maker is absolutely correct.

the answer is unknown.

The solution is obvious: 42.

7) After she kicks him in the shin for handing them to her like that.

lol, I'm watching some old bleach eps right now and that sounds just like rukia LOL

What does zero being the center of the universe have anything to do with it? I think that part is to throw people off, making the question seem more esoteric.

Zero may be a person hence it's capitlized

"everything in this universe is math"
