How many times is Columbia going to mail me their blue album? I just got another one in the mail. Yay, I have 5 copies of it now >_<. And I gave two away. Is anyone else getting 85876768686778 copies of the blue album?!? ahhhh! paper waste!

That’s their way of reinforcing the psychological effects of the likely letter.

sorry pigs.

so the problem with columbia or any university that does automatic mailings is the fact that they might have your name on file for a variety of reasons. its like when you have double entries to an event, its hard to sift and tell it is different.

so let’s say your name comes into their database via reason a, b, c, d; it might lead to duplicity of information, especially if your name, address or other identifiable information is worded at all differently across reasons a, b, c, d (whether it has you at one school or another, with or without a social security number; imagine the permutations). further - this time you got the blue album could have been purposefully because you were a likely student irrespective of if you received it before. considering the blue album is the best way for a student to get a visual and textual representation of columbia from afar.

though it is annoying, perhaps, it means: a) they like you (i mean why wouldn’t they, you seem cool), b) you guys probably have many ways that have linked each other - from lists you’ve signed up for, to accomplishments that cu has heard about, it means you guys have mutually developed such a courtship.

You always give the best answers admissionsgeek!! :)

When I got the mail, I was like facepalm not again!
