Gosh.... I missed the Columbia deadline by 1 hour!!! Will I be excused ???

Yeah, I already submitted my application for Columbia.. I submitted Part 2 today, and I submitted part 1 two months before. But I MISS the deadline 12:00pm EST 3/15 by one hour. Will I be pinalized for that? I was in a rush, but I'm sure I didn't make any foolish mistake. It's just that, the time of submission is posted on the webpage and there's nothing I can do about it. Should I be worried over this issue???? and IN GENERAL, how flexible is the deadline for each school- especially Columbia and Penn?

You should be pinalized for not spelling penalized correctly.

In general, you shouldn’t be worried about pieces of your application that you have no DIRECT control over (e.g. LORs, transcripts, etc.). In this case however, this is something that you could have easily prevented. What can I say? You should have worked on your application earlier.

Deadlines are usually flexible, so Columbia will still consider your portfolio. However, you might come across as not really serious about the school, since I know for a fact that the Columbia admissions committee strongly recommended that the application be sent in several days or weeks before the deadline. So that alone should tell you something.

Just hope that your package is stellar (and not stellar as in typical stellar, but as in world-beater stuff). The very best of luck to you sir.

EDIT: I just caught that you’re also an International student. Another factor to consider.

they don’t care,as long as you get it in within a weeks time ushould be fine, i calld Columbia andasked them

Just to clarify:

Your current GPA based on one semester of college work will not outweigh your high school record. But:

Since this is what Columbia said, then I stand corrected.

how did you know it was 12:00 PM?? If that’s the case then I handed in mine a few hours late as well

I think it was more like 11:59 PM EST; 12:00 PM was probably a typo.
