<p>I hypothesize that the reason TV shows about spoiled rich girls doing what spoiled rich girls do (and which I musn't mention here) is popular is that people, particularly the "tween" set, aspire to be like them and are fascinated by them. Not exactly the best aspirations. In reality, spoiled rich girls who've never had to consider money are the most boring people. Those philosophical hobos are by far the most interesting.</p>
