Got 4 admits..MS CS help

Hello,

I want to know which of the following universities are FAMOUS and Respected in the field of computer science...

RIT-Rochester institute of tech
SJSU-san jose state univ
santa clara university
university of southern california
clemson university

please let me kno the pros and cons of the above colleges...ive got admits from all of them..dont know wher to join...:(

I ahave seen the rankings in US news, but want to know how respected these univ.s are...

thanks

I can just tell you USC is more widely known and respected (don’t know which CS dept is best).

none of them. and how’d you get admitted in early december?

spring program 2010

Just got an admit frm UTDALLAS MS CS

please help…which one to choose?

You are a little late to the party with this question - you should have asked this before you applied!! Considering your semester starts in a month, you really cut this decision close! Not knowing anything specific about the departments, I can offer only the USNews rankings of the departments:

RIT-Rochester institute of tech: unlisted
SJSU-san jose state univ: unlisted
santa clara university: unlisted
university of southern california: 20
clemson university: listed, unranked
UTDALLAS : 72

Of the lot, it appears that only USC has a solid reputation, according to the infallible academic researchers at the USNews. Since it carries a big reputation anyway, that would be my vote.

Thanks man!

The only prob with USC is, its a bit expensive.
But got no choice, ihave to join either clemson or SJSU or USC.

USC has a respectable C.S department. They have good professors and researches.
I would have gone there if I hadn’t been accepted to Columbia.

SJSU may be unlisted, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t an acceptable school. What is your career goal or what do you hope to get out of the school? I’m very familiar with SJSU and can probably answer a few questions.

Also, if you like Topcoder. Here is a ranking for you:

[TopCoder Statistics - Top Ranked Schools](<a href=“TopCoder - Error”>TopCoder Statistics - Top Ranked Schools)

Well, a nice paying IT job i suppose, im not into research or anythin…

Then you may want to consider SJSU. However, you need to join the SJSU CS Club if you do decide to pursue your degree there. Employers (mainly alumni) visit this club to talk about getting a job at their company (IBM, Yahoo, Facebook, Microsoft, NetApp). The club is relatively small too and you’ll learn that just about everyone knows each other (you’ll end up meeting a ton of alumni if you start hanging around there too).

can you give me some information about santa clara u, comparing to arizona state, i just want to find a good job in IT industry
