Got a 2320 on first try--Should I retake to try for 2400?

It is really up to you. That remaining 80 points is not likely to have any major impact in your admission, however, it may help for some merit scholarship. If you have time and you are sure you can score much better and you are aiming for those scholarships, then you may consider a retake. Otherwise, you should focus on something else.

For major merit scholarships awarded to the top few % of students, there will be a difference between 2320 and 2400. I have seen ACT 35 (~2340 in SAT) to be the border line that some students did not receive merit scholarships at some schools.
