Got a 35 on report card... what should I do?

Right, so I have a 35 in math right now (multivariable calc). We have had two tests so far, and I failed both of them... as you probably can tell. I keep failing even though I do the homework and study my --- off. There are no other grades in the class because my teacher hasn't put in the homework and quiz grades (which do not exist because he hasn't graded any homework or quizzes). If he were to put in the homework and quiz grades, I estimate that my total average might rise to a 60-something, which still leaves me royally screwed.

I haven't been accepted to any colleges, and if I were to be miraculously accepted by some, I'm pretty sure they'll rescind the offers as soon as they see this grade.

What should I do? Beg my counselor to drop this class (it's probably too late)? Ask if I can get the class and the grade erased from my transcript altogether (ha, right)? Take a gap year? Kill myself?

Talk to your counselor/teacher or get a tutor. Find out what kind of grades your school sends out.

What about the other kids in multi that are also failing the class? Does the teacher not curve grades?

That’s okay. My friend has an 18 in Spanish. Tell yourself that you’re better than that guy.

Well, considering that this semester is almost over. Killing yourself may not be too bad of an idea.

lol for a second i read the thread title “so i just got a 35-” then i skipped to the end “what should i do?”

for a second i thought u meant u got a 35 on the ACT lol

well anyways talk to ur teacher, that is the best way to see what the problem is

drop the class, dude.

and what the heck are you doing in multivariable calculus as a high schooler? you obviously suck at math…

Are you a senior? It really depends on the college if it’s not extremely competitive I wouldn’t stress over it. But I’m pretty sure many colleges will be impressed by the fact you are taking multi because I think most only require you to take up to algebra 2 (depending on your major) You went above and beyond so hopefully they will take that into account.
