Well I just got a C+ in my Intro to Macroeconomics class. I'm planning on applying to UCLA for Business Economics (I'm doing TAP). How badly will this affect my chances? It's not that I didn't get the material, it's mainly because I forgot to turn in alot of online homework..

Do I still have a chance as long as I keep my overall GPA high? Should I retake the class?

eek, can you still withdrawal from the class and take an F? You can only do academic renewal on grades that are not passing (Ds or Fs). Otherwise I'm not sure how much re-taking the class would prove, and what they would do with the grade.

The only advice that I can give you at this point is get an A++ in micro-econ - UCLA bizecon is very competitive and I'm not sure that they will overlook a C+ in a heavily fundamental course.

This is my 1st quarter of community college. Yea, I guess I'll just have to do really well in my other pre-reqs. Though to be honest, I don't really see myself as a Biz Econ guy, more of a Biz Administration (like at USC).

Most colleges will count it as a separate course if you take it again, i.e. a C and an A in a 3-unit course taken twice will come out to 18 GPA units out of 6, or a 3.0.

Above sounds correct. Maybe you should re-take it baring in mind what you could have done better last time around. Also I recommend using ratemyprofessors.com to find a good professor. The professor makes a world of difference, especially in a subject like econ.

Also, USC Marshall also requires macro, micro, accounting and calculus.

In my opinion, C is the worst grade you can get at a CC because youre not allowed to retake the course (as you can if you earn a D or F). UCs, and esp UCLA, heavily weighs the major requirement courses in admission decions. GL and hopefully youll do better in your other requirements.

I just called the other CC near me. I can't retake the course there either. Thanks for the replies though. I'll just have to do my best in my other pre-reqs then.
