I got a call from a Cal student who congratulated me on being admitted and asked me if I had any questions. It was very casual; we had a short conversation about Cal Day and what are going to be my deciding factors in choosing a university. I thought it was very nice, and probably a good ploy to get more students to want to come. I didn't really have any questions since most of mine have been answered through this board, so the girl who called probably was a bit surprised... has anyone else received this call?

hmm, no, but I'm not at home right now, and I gave them my home number.

no call yet

I got a call just now from a girl too about the same things...

wierd, did you guys apply for special scholarships or were you near the top of the admitted class? I don't think EVERY admitted student is getting call....

Many colleges do this; I got a call from USC yesterday, same concept.

I've gotten a call from UCLA, USC and Berkeley. The guy from USC was trash talking the UC's and telling me how wonderful USC is. I hung up on him. The girl from Berkelely was helpful. I wasn't home when UCLA called.

yes, i didnt ask many questions neither, they invited me to senior weekend

I got a call from a girl from Berkeley yesterday too... she was wondering if I had any questions.. she seemed very friendly.

the only phone call I ever got was from Sac State lol

"I thought it was very nice, and probably a good ploy to get more students to want to come."

It's a survey of some sort.. they already admitted a certain number of students and expect a certain number to enroll.
