I received a call from someone from Cornell Ambassador, and talked with him. Was this basically an interview?

lmao no it’s not

If he asked you if you had any questions about Cornell and not if you wanted to schedule an interview, then yes, it was.

He asked me if i had questions. It was like a good 15 minutes. Has anyone else got a call?

Yeah, I got one.

Then yes, that was your interview.

Was it the Cornell Ambassadors or the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador’s Network?

If it was the former, that’s only students answering questions and thus was not your “interview”.

If it was the latter, it was an alum who writes a report to the school, this was your “interview”.

Although neither are really interviews, more information sessions.

If I didn’t get a phone call does that mean anything?

@chendrix: wow thats confusing. I think mine was a student. i have a feeling it wasn’t an interview because I didn’t even apply to cornell, yet. All i did was submit my sat scores before i received this call. does anyone know how they found me? since its not an interview it has no effect right?

@easyasabc: If you didn’t get a phone call that means nothing.
The only programs that require interviews are hotel and architecture and those are not offered by CAAAN.

@jakeiscool: If it’s by a student it shouldn’t at all have an effect. Even the CAAAN interviews are only influential if your interviewer is a big-wig or if you are an on-the-fence candidate.

not even architecture is requiring an interview this year. They accepted “interview essays” instead. Apparently you could still have done an interview… something I was unaware of until it was too late -_-;

I did an interview with a member of the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador’s Network. I hope it helps! GL everyone =D
