WOW, I never imagined this would happen to me...

I think I got a D in a community college science course (grades out this week... but according to my calculations, it's gonna be tough to pull the C). The thing is that I already took four years of science in high school and passed them. Am I gonna get rescended?

Because UCI is only a mid-tier UC, I think they'll let you through. There are a few possibilities that may happen aside from getting your admissions revoked. I know you really love UCI so I'm sure you'll make it through. Now, if you get a D, you might be let in but only on academic probation (this is what I've heard). You can also try telling them you'll retake it this summer or something. I know you want to go to UCI! Good luck!

Yea, I know how you feel. I don't know what's going on with my calc teacher's grading scale so I'm scared he might be stupid and give me a D. I became very distracted during the month of March...so my grade went down a lot. I did well on the final, but I have to wait to see my final grade =|.

I doubt you'll be put on academic probation. Your community college GPA will not be calculated into your UC GPA. The only disadvantage I see is that you won't be getting the credit you should have.

If you have sights on grad school I'd suggest retaking that same class at the same school. If your school has academic renewal or some other policy on repeating a course, look into it. When retaking the class your new grade will replace the D; however the D will stay on your CC transcript but not be calculated into your CC GPA.

Well, here's the thing: if you fail a college course, and it DOESN'T COUNT as part of YOUR HIGH SCHOOL GPA, in other words, doesn't appear as grade on your HIGH SCHOOL transcript, then you're fine. If that's not the case, then you should be freaking out about now. And failing a high school class isn't great either. In those cases, contact the university IMMEDIATELY.
