got a D senior year

I'm afraid i wont get into uci because my gpa is too low (3.61 uc gpa). not only that, but i got a D in ap spanish this year and even if i do get in, i dont know what to do so i wont get revoked. any hints/advice would be greatly appreciated.

First Tip: Notify them as soon as possible. A friend of mine got a D in calculus his senior year but notified UC Davis early, and they let him go. However, the people who tried later were swapped away like flies.

Second Tip: Pull something out of your ass that is believable and provable in your letter when notifying them. You just might pull through.

Third Tip: BEG YOUR TEACHER ON YOUR KNEES TO GIVE YOU A C-.

hahaha. The third tip is the best!

If that fails, well, there's always UCR. My friend got a D AND an F and UCR still took him. They are really cool about these things.

are you serious ^^^^^^^^

Uh, why are You worrying?
I have a 3.4 UC GPA AND I'm OOS
Chill.

About your grades though...is the D the grade for the entire first semester or can you still pull it up like second term?
Either way...yeah try to get it up to a C-, but be honest about it..get a tutor or something so they'll see you're making an effort to learn the subject? ><

lol no way in hell my teacher will give me a C. that teacher is a complete douche, and i had to drop that class and move into spanish 4. you guys think if i can pull off an A in spanish 4 second semester, it'll alleviate the D and show i still know my spanish?

If you notify them late, you might lose your chances of getting leeway due to crwoding reasons. It's a gamble...

Bman, No. By the time your sr grades are out (I assume June) your admission decision has been made. So either write a good letter to the admission office or go get your grade changed to a C-. Good luck.

I agree, let the school know about it ASAP!

What? Are you kidding? Does it say anywhere that you have to notify the schools when you get a D? If you want, write up a good explanation for why you got that D and keep it handy, but there's no use sending it in now. Wait until decisions are out. If you get in, that's when you need to send in the explanation. If not, turn that letter into a letter of appeal. Tis all.

Yes, wait until the decisions are out so that you know who to send it to. Ohterwise you'll be sending it to all the schools. But once they are out, sending it asap may help your chances for the leeway. Prepare that letter of appeal like blinkblink said in case though. UCI has a high appeals rate.

" If not, turn that letter into a letter of appeal."

If they're not taking you before you got a D sr year... your chances of appeal doesn't look that bright.

Actually, I know a few people who appealed after getting their admissions revoked. I still wish you good luck. Shouldn't have let it happen though! You ARE going to college next year =.
