Got a likely letter and invited for a campus visit!

For those of you who got the invitation, what were your majors? I asked someone who’s attending right now and he says that it seems to be catered mostly towards minorities pursuing science-based majors.

I’m majoring in English. Maybe they’re broadening the group of people selected?

I’m majoring in Finance.

I’m a polysci major, and I’m not a minority. It could just be the applicants that they believe they might lose to other schools. This might be their way of trying to impress them right before they have to make a final decision. A big advertisement basically.

Planning on doing business, most likely Finance. If not, then probably Econ.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using CC

That might be the reason. It all comes down to the financial package, though.

I’m a non-minority female who put Economics as my major and applied for financial aid, and I received an invitation to the paid visit. Not sure whether or not I’ll attend but it sounds like a great opportunity!

I’m a white female in engineering so maybe that counts as a minority?

I just got a likely letter today inviting me to an international students all-expense-paid campus visit. It goes as follows:

Dear (insert name here),

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions has reviewed your application and although a final decision has not been made, we are convinced of your likely admission to the University of Notre Dame. We believe you can add a great deal to the Notre Dame community with your presence on campus. To give you a better understanding of that community as well as a chance to learn more of what a Notre Dame education entails, we would like to invite you to attend the Hesburgh International Scholars Experience (HISE) from April 13th through April 17th, 2013.

Leaning towards another school, but I’ll take the free trip. After all, a friend of mine gave up Wharton for ND because of that visit to ND, which completely changed his mind.

GO IRISH!

Still hoping…did you get the letter in the mail (USPS) or an email?

Where are you located? International Students…are you located outside of the U.S.?
Thanks

Hello Guys!

I just got my likely letter about two days ago!
I was so surprised that they chose me.
They probably did so because I was a minority.
Is that how it works?
I am from Bolivia, so that probably helps.
Anyway, very excited to go to HISE in April.
Hope to see you guys in person!

For those of you packing for this week’s Spring Visitation Weekend, how big is your luggage? Mine is kind of big, but that’s only so my sleeping bag and pillow fit. I just don’t want to be that one person with a huge suitcase.

Hi guys, I have a question about the visit. Have any of you heard back from the Reilly Program? I’m sent in my registration but I didn’t get a confirmation email. Hope to see you all in April!

I’m confused. I thought there were only two of these? I got invited to the one in April. If there are like ten of them I’ll be sad, my ego had finally inflated a bit :(

Just got my itinerary via email! Hypeddddddddd

I got it too! It was in my “unofficial email” and had I not checked this thread, I would have probably missed it.
