well getting W is better than a F or D. Keep that in mind. Is too late to study?

haha, good point, highschoolda... should've mentioned that in my previous post.

Except maybe for UCI... I've been told that UCI looks at Ws as you-could-have-tried-harder-and-gone-through-with-it-but-instead-you-decided-to-quit. I don't know if that's true or not, or if it also applies to transfer students, but just wanted to share anyway in case anyone's heard anything similar or have any comments.

Nonetheless, like I said before, it can work to your advantage.

If your only two options are Cs, Ds, and Fs or a bunch of Ws, take the Ws. Easy. It's like picking between a straight flush and a two pair. Your GPA is MUCH easier to repair with one quarter of bad grades rather than two quarters of bad grades.

If you withdraw, you're still supposed to reveal all transcripts including your first quarter at Pomona. Still, my previous post revealed ALL the ways I can think of getting caught. wink

Also CC is easy but you do have to put in some effort to get an A including showing up for class. (you get dropped if you miss too many claseses) High school for most of us was easy too and a 3.4 means you might need some work in the studying/motivation department. There are a lot of unmotivated and depressed students at the CC and it is very, very easy to get complacent and get comfortable with their barely passing grades. This is why I really caution you against returning to school before you are good and ready.

bouncingboy, u make several great points.

CC is kinda like HS, attendence to class is mandatory. But most classes are straight forward. Most Teachers treat u like HS students giving u study guides and hints about tests. reminding u the importance of doing HW, etc.

CC is also pretty depressing. You have to be pretty self motivated and be ready for a pretty boring 2 years. W/ all the partying u've been doing, this might be a big change.

highschoolda that's not standard the things you mentioned doesn't happen in any of my classes in my CC...no attendance, no study guides, no hits...no HW either

collegeman: A 1350 is well above average for most UC's. If you really want to go to one, why didn't you go straight from high school?

All I can say is that the UCs are very strict in their policy of reporting all grades and every institution an applicant has attended earned. That cannot be stressed enough. There's really no way around it, and it's not worth the risk. Listen to Shinkun, Giants8307, and highschoolda's link... they all have very good points.

In other words, good luck working at McDonald's if you get caught!
