I applied to MIcrobio but I was accepted under Pre-Sciences. So does that mean that as long as I meet the requirements for any science major, I can apply to it as a sophomore? So like Microbio, Bio, Neurobio, etc?
Yes. Also note, microbiology (unlike neurobiology) does not have a direct freshman admission pathway, and it is not capacity constrained (like biology and neurobiology).
“The Microbiology major is a minimum admissions major. Students meeting the minimum admission requirements will likely be able to declare the major if they meet the criteria below and meet with the adviser. There is not an application process.
“* A minimum of 75 credits applicable to graduation, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 overall, and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in prerequisite chemistry and biology courses listed below. Most students are admitted to the major at the beginning of their junior year.
“* Completion of the following prerequisite courses:
* BIOL 180, 200, (Minimum 2.3 grade), 220
* CHEM 142, 152, 162, CHEM 223 or CHEM 237 or CHEM 335”
