When I first re-read it and saw Winter Admission, it was such a downer, but I'm just happy I got in. My GPA was so low that I was hoping I wasn't gonna be stuck at Davis or Irvine or worse CC for 2 years. Now I should be grateful that I just barely made it and I actually got into a place I want to go to

i got into muir. i'm convinced test scores/gpa doesn't really have a lot to do with getting accepted into uc's at all...mine was only 3.83 and 1910 on the sat.

davis was my 3rd choice, with ucla as my second, but i haven't heard from them yet...but i doubt i'll get accepted, considering it's a lot harder to get into la than sd. ._.

at least i guess it'll be like a longer summer break, &i'll get to spend some more time with friends and stuff. (=

i'm a little confused, though...when do i start looking for housing? i mean, that would suck if i already found housing and then they tell me i got bumped up for fall ><"

you do know that EC's and other things count for a lot in SD & Davis admissions, other than GPA & SAT's.

There are a lot of applicants with UC GPA's > 4.0, and SAT's > 2000, that were rejected.

Wait, you haven't heard from Davis yet? And you are semi-right about the test score/gpa thing. They review the application and really look into it. That's why it takes them so long, with the high volume of apps, but they really look into other things and not just those stats

Davis decisions are out. Check your online UC Davis account

Yeah, that's why I was confused when he said that. Davis has been out since last week. But I wasn't sure if he was talking about LA or both of them

wait, la isn't out yet, right? they're the one uc i haven't heard back from yet.

&masterhammy, did anyone ever make that facebook group you were talking about in the earlier posts? xD

and i have a question....have you guys all submitted your intent to register yet? would it give you a higher chance of being bumped up for fall housing? 0=

nope, haven't turned in SIR yet. And I do not believe it will give higher chance for fall housing.. b/c the fall admits begin to apply for housing starting july or june.. and winter admits start in Nov. 3rd..

i got accepted to Muir as a winter admit
i wish they would guarantee housing tho >.<
so what are you guys going to do? is it better to do the UCSDextension or take community college courses?

@kwanitee: ucla came out today

Winter admissions is a lottery. I was a winter admit and I called them and they explained it as a lottery.

i got rejected from ucla today so i will be going to ucsd, but i am going to call next week to try to appeal for fall

so are most of you guys still going to ucsd?
also, what will you be doing during fall quarter (taking classes, working, etc)?

There really is no way to appeal for fall.

The only way you'd somehow attend during fall is if the entire winter group was bumped up to fall. They do that if they have enough space. This is also done during May, after SIR's are sent in.

its a lottery? as in b/w reject and winter admission?
wow, then i feel pretty lucky if thats the case :]

i'll most likely be going to UCSD unless i get accepted to CAL (highly doubtful) and like CAL's campus better.

linda_x, i'm with you. rejected from ucla, so definitely heading for ucsd now.

in fall, i'll try to knock out some of my g.e.'s at the local cc, while keeping the job i have now, but probably with a few more hours since i'd be out of high school so no limits on when i can work. xD

at least i'd get more time to prepare for college, and not have to say goodbye to people as soon. (=

kwanitee - that sounds like what ill be doing so i hope to see you in the winter!
im a little sad that i will have to say bye to my friends when they leave for college and i dont get to start until 3 months later :(
which college did you get into and for what major?

linda_x: yea, that would be sad when other people start leaving for college, but i know some people going the cc for 2 years &then transferring route, and i know some juniors and stuff, so it won't be that bad. (]=

but yea, hope to see you in january! maybe we can be roomies if there's no housing available, haha. xD

i'm in muir, majoring in physiology &neuroscience, haha. how about you?

@linda: i got rejected from ucla as well. apparently this years admittance rate was pretty low..one of my friends said 9% o_0.

@linda & kwanitee: may i ask in what part of CA u live?[u dont need to respond here if u dont want to] just curious to know^^

does anyone know how expensive apartments are or where to get the best deals that are close to campus? i hope we can get into the dorm rooms on campus~ if not, i have to find roommates as well

xlemonpie: i'm from the bay area. how about you? 0= this link might be a little useful:
