i got rejected from ucla as well. apparently this years admittance rate was pretty low..one of my friends said 9% o_0.

[/quote]

I got rejected also. It was definitely not 9%. It's 4.7k available freshmen spaces out of 55k applicants, but not everyone admitted to UCLA will go. The admission rate is probably in the lower 20s.

Me too :p.

@kwanitee: thanks for the site! i'm from orange county ^^

@pharmaybe: sorry >.< thats just what a friend told me..

i'm trying to decide between SB and SD now. the uncertainty of housing is quite a con.

Are you guys and gals going to try and find roommates? somewhere in the thread it was mentioned that the winter admits of previous years were crammed in one of the 6 colleges during the middle of the year; do you think this will be the case again? that'd be nice, but we're not guaranteed anything..

I'm from the LA vicinity

kwanitee - ahh im also at muir and i am majoring in psychology and im going to take the required premed courses so i can hopefully end up in med school. haha we might just end up rooming together!

lemonpie- im also from the bay area :)

otrebmu - i want to live in a dorm at least the first year and after that i will try to find roommates. and if i dont end up getting housing in ucsd, i will just find some winter admits to room with

@linda: me too. i wanted to see what the dorm experience would be like, at least for the first year. btw, i'm not from the bay area^^. i'm from orange county :] hehe i'm muir also!

Haha once I read that I got into UCSD, I was happy but I do have to admit, I was bummed about being admitted into Winter Quarter :/. I'm still waiting for Berkeley and Columbia as of right now, but realistically speaking... I think I might choose UCSD. So I have a couple of questions... If any of you guys are in the International Baccalaureate program: if I score a 5 or higher on my IB exams for High Level... UCSD gives out 8 units of credit for each. Does this mean that I don't have to take classes over the fall? I still want to take part in the extended program just so I can have that "beginning of freshman year" feel. Okay and second question... anyone admitted to Revelle as a biology major? :)

swtandsimple - i had a talk with my parents and they said i would be able to do the extended program until january so im really excited about that. maybe i get to see you there! and i took 8 ap classes in high school so im maxed out for credits, im wondering how that all works out

Linda_x: Yeah I wonder how the credits are going to work out. That'd be cool to see you there, haha! My boyfriend goes to UCSD right now, so I'm gonna visit him on the admit day weekend... are you going?

i also wonder how ap credits are going to work out.
IB programs arent offered at my school, so i dont know how that works.

@swtandsimple: i think thats really cute!^^ u two will be going to the same school~!^^

who else is going to the april 4th admit day? :]
haha, i'm thinking of doing the UCSDextension also

Thank you lemon! He's a freshman there and he absolutely loves it! I visit him from Vegas all the time and I love the environment at UCSD. :)

Here's a link to a chart for ALL 6 colleges regarding ap credit.
http://infopath-1.ucsd.edu/catalog/pdffiles/APCtable.pdf

And here's one for IB credits
International Baccalaureate Credits

prdonut: thx for the list. i was looking thru it and didnt see "spanish language" under there..does that mean they dont accept spanish?? i only see spanish lit..this is weird >_>

I really have no clue...I also have no idea how to find out. Only thing I can think of is the generic response of "Email Them", but even then I wouldn't know who to email.

xlemonpie: great question! Strange omission indeed...

ok so i just called them
and for Muir "spanish language" gives credit up to 8 units
and u need a 3, 4, or 5.

i'm pretty sure the other colleges do the same thing :]

sup yall. i was accepted into Revelle for Winter Quarter and i'm kind of confused on what to do now. i didn't get any financial aid except for loans lol. i guess living in Texas allows your parents to pay more.

i guess the plan would be to take JC courses to catch up and work towards getting put into fall quarter.

i was denied from ucla as well, still waiting on berkeley and stanford. any chance this thread carries for the next few months, itd be nice to keep in touch with yall.

Shaggy817: yep, they advise you to take a few jc courses in the fall, help knock out a few g.e.'s for revelle or whatever. i think they also advise that you not take more than 3 courses though. (=

goodluck on cal &stanford! and i guess the upside of being a winter admit is that we get to pay a little less. xD

@ all winter admits, I was a winter admit last year Muir, and I absolutely love UCSD... everyone is soo nice. The school is in a nice area and there is allot of stuff to do if you know the right people. I'll admit it can get boring sometimes but its more fun than my friend has at UC Davis.

@shaggy817: this website might help u choose ur cc courses :] Revelle College - UCSD

@alexander: thxx for the encouragement ^^
