let’s bump!

I am missing a bunch of prereqs for the neuroscience major for UCSC (switching from psych) and transferring for the fall '11 semester.
I’m anxious to see some more posts!

physics isn’t a pre req for microbiology so you had all your pre reqs done. it is a recommended class though.

Good grief. I was worried about missing one pre-req, but after looking at this thread, there isn’t much for me to worry about. Given that I keep up my GPA, of course.

Even though I’m a vet I was still very surprised that I was admitted to Cal with a missing prereq into the highly competitive psychology program, very smug indeed. : )

I’ve been reading completing IGETC or pre-reqs for transfer isn’t necessarily a requirement. But just to make sure, everyone that got accepted completed the 60 unit min?

A miracle I know…

Sorry I had to bump this, but I thought it was better than creating a new thread.

I’m looking around on assist.org right now, and I see this little tid-bit in UCR’s Economics page. I haven’t really looked around to see if the same thing is in some of the other pages yet:

“Completion of the course work listed below is not mandatory for admission into
this major. However, students are advised to complete as much lower division
course preparation as possible prior to transfer, to be ready for upper division
course work, and to move more efficiently towards graduation after transfer.”

Does that really mean what I think it means? Completing the classes is NOT required to transfer? Anyone know?

Completing the courses are NOT required, but you might get rejected if the school/major is competitive and you didn’t complete many of the pre-reqs. Basically the courses they list are required for the major and if you don’t complete them at your CC, you will have to take them at your UC.

It’s just a pain to take the lower division courses as a junior and if your missing classes are pre-reqs for upper division classes, then you have to wait even longer to take your upper divs.

School: UC Irvine
Major: Quantitative Economics
Missing PreReqs: Calculus 3, Linear Algebra
Missing Recommended LD course: Informatics/intro toCS(not offered, and these courses weren’t pre)
GPA: 3.6

also got in at UCSB
School: UC Irvine

Missing PreReqs: Linear Algebra, Writing For Bus/econ/accounting(not offered), Statistics(not offered, but took similar course)
GPA: 3.6

got into Riverside(parents wanted me to take a safety) for Business Admin too. Too lazy to list stuff, I don’t care about UCR and neither should you. I didn’t apply anywhere else

Bumpin’ this thread. I’m interested in seeing more kids who got in, specifically into an impacted major. I’m looking to transfer to UCSD as a Human Biology major; by the time I do, I will still need Calc II + III, O-Chem series, and the Physics series, so I’m wondering if anyone who was in a similar situation still managed to get in.
