Got an Acceptance Letter (and $) today!

I got an acceptance letter today to W&M, and also a $7,000 /year scholarship, and I was accepted to the James Monroe Scholars Program. fun. :) Anyone else hear today?

Are you in-state or out of state? I wonder if it takes longer for the letters to get to the out-of-staters.

My daughter is out of state (NY) and received a letter yesterday (3/9), also accepting her as a Monroe Scholar. No scholarship, though. Congrats, cubed!

thanks :) I'm out of state, in CT.

i got one too. Not as much money as you but some. They said they sent out monroe scholars early. So don't panic if you haven't gotten a letter yet.

mine wasn't exactly $7,000, it is the price of in-state tuition and fees, so I just pay the out-of-state difference, but for 2004-2005 it was $7,096.

congrats to everyone whose gotten in! and on the monroe scholarships! how did you find out they sent out monroe's earlier than regular admittance?

the letter said so.

congratulations to all of you! monroe is a great achievement, especially this year since they have cut down the number of students accepted into the program. I guess I'll be seeing you guys next year if you pick WM...

To give a little hope to those still waiting, can you lucky Monroe Scholars share your scores etc and indicate if in or out of state? Thankls.

I also got in out of state and got the scholarship for a little over 7,000.

bluejay - sure

SAT I : 1520
Sat II: 780/700/690
3 of 270 class rank

My d's stats:

SAT I: 1510
SAT II: 800/790/790
unranked, but probably top 1% according to GC
from NY

Anyone gotten it in-state?

Sat I: 1530
SATII: 800/740/730
3.7 uw, 4.0 weighted, top 10% (thats all my school will specify, but i'm probably between 20-25/370, super-competetive public school)

For those of you who got the Monroe, did you receive that handwritten postcard from the admissions office?

nope
i guess they didn't like me much

me neither

nice! congrats! i got in too, out of state, with monroe scholars, but unfortunately, no money.

Congradulations everyone...Did anyone get Monroe Scholars from Virginia- it seems that everyone has been from elsewhere...just hoping that W&M is sending out out of state decisions first and that mine will be in the mail...(PLEASE!!!)
